2019: NCP PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT FORMERLY DUMPS PARTY, DEFECTS TO ANN IN NIGERIA.
- A presidential aspirant, Dr Thomas Wilson-Ikubese, has dumped the National Conscience Party for the Alliance for New Nigeria . The defection was a fall-out of the NCP’s adoption by the Nigerian Intervention Movement - Ikubese formerly joined the Alliance for New Nigeria on May 29, and will contest for the office of the president on its platform Dr Thomas Wilson-Ikubese, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the National Conscience Party (NCP), has formerly dumped the party and defected to the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Daily Trust reports. Ikubese announced his decision to exit the NCP in a statement released by the director of media and publicity of YesWeFit Revolutionary Movement, Ayobami Ogedengbe, and the development reportedly shocked stakeholders of the party. NAIJ.com gathers that the defection was a fall-out of the NCP’s adoption by third force movement, Nigerian Intervention Movement (NIM), which is being promoted by Olisa Agbakoba, former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) president, among others. On his part, Ikubese is the convener of the YesWeFit Revolutionary Movement, a political movement which is also part of the NIM. The statement read: “Since the YesWeFit Revolutionary Movement, which Dr Ikubese is the convener is part of NIM and has been part of the discussions all along, it therefore follows that we shall key into this arrangement. “By this, Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese formerly joined the Alliance for New Nigeria on 29th May 2018, being Nigeria's Democracy Day, and shall run for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the party in the coming 2019 presidential election." Ikubese has also urged all other young presidential aspirants across the country to “come together under one umbrella to wrestle power from the current administration of President Buhari so as to set Nigeria on the path of recovery and progress." Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that the presidential aspirant visited former president Olusegun Obasanjo at his Abeokuta residence ahead of 2019 general elections. He vowed to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari in the next election and fix Nigeria. Ikubese thanked Obasanjo for speaking the mind of common Nigerians on the street in the letter he recently wrote to the president, urging him not to seek re-election in 2019 because of his unimpressive performance in office. The next president of Nigeria. Who will win the 2019 elections? POSTED BY ABRAHAM.
