BREAKING: SENATOR DINO MELAYE DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM PRESIDENT BUHARI OVER ALLEGED NASS INSULT .
Senator Dino Melaye has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to apologise to the national assembly over what he described as an insult to the upper chamber. He said the president claimed he did not know what many of the legislators are doing. The senator, in a tweet on Thursday, May 31, claimed the statement by the president was demeaning and hence, he should apologise. "Senator Dino Melaye cites Order 14 states that Mr president through Channels and AIT insulted @nassnigeria saying he does not know what they are doing and many of us have been here for over 10 years yet, have nothing to show for it. This statement is demeaning to the @nassnigeria ”I call on Mr president to apologize on the statement issued by him to the National Assembly.” Recall that NAIJ.com had reported that the lawmaker representing Kogi west at the National Assembly lamented his situation under the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Melaye who subtly threw a dig at the current administration in an Instagram message on Sunday, May 20, posted that he was never framed up for fighting former president Goodluck Jonathan. NAIJ.com had also reported that Dino Melaye, the embattled senator representing Kogi west at the National Assembly, on Wednesday, May 30, gave a hint of a defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
