AN INSULT TO WOMEN': MCENANY SLAMS BILL CLINTON'S COMMENTS ON MONICA LEWINSKY
Republican National Committee spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany said that Bill Clinton's recent remarks about Monica Lewinsky and the "Me Too" movement are "ridiculous." The former president was questioned about the Lewinsky scandal during an NBC interview while promoting his and author James Patterson's book, "The President Is Missing." Clinton said that he does not owe Lewinsky a personal apology and added that he left the White House $16 million in debt due to the scandal. "For Bill Clinton to sit there and egotistically claim that he lost $16 million when [Lewinsky] lost part of her life, it is ridiculous," McEnany said on "Fox & Friends.""For him to try to claim he's part of the Me Too movement -- the positive, empowering female side of this -- it's an insult to women." Clinton commented on his remarks during a book tour event Monday night in Harlem, New York, claiming that he "got hot under the collar because of the way the questions were asked." After political commentator Wendy Osefo tried to draw a comparison between Clinton's remarks and President Trump, McEnany called the attempted connection "astonishing." "We should all sit here and condemn Bill Clinton for [his] actions," she said.
