Only God Can Stop My Re-election in 2019-Gov. Udom Emmanuel
Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel has on Thursday at a town hold meeting with indigenes of the state said that only God can stop his reelection into office in 2019 general election. The Governor while speaking at the meeting held in Abuja where 19 northern states were in participant, insisted that there was no need for war before, during and after the elections as leadership and power belongs to “God and He gives it to who He desires.” Gov. Emmanuel said that “This is the first time in the history of our dear state that we are hearing how Warsaw will see war and war will see Warsaw. Satan shame unto you because all power belong to God. God alone decides the leader He gives to the people He loves.” He stressed that this is the first time a sitting governor is visiting indigenes of Akwa Ibom in the 19 northern states and holds such interactive session in Abuja. “I am showing my love through selfless service to the people,” He said, adding that he has pleaded with God to use him as a developing instrument for the state, as there is no place people would go in the state without seeing signs of development delivered by his government. Gov. Emmanuel revealed that the state would soon unveil a deep-sea port that would welcome economic activities, as the structure was in its last lap of completion, adding that with an international airport and a deep-sea port the state would be ready to fly. Revealing plans of the state to commission a plywood processing plants in December, he emphasized that it will be one of the best in the country. The Governor promised that 80 percent of consumed food in the state will be state produced given second term. One of the State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, Nduese Essien, who was also present at the meeting noted that Governor Emmanuel is back after certain setbacks. Daily Sun reports that Essien explained that huge debts which the governor had to settle due to those who lost to him in 2015, were part of the setbacks gov. Emmanuel had to manage.
