Cleric Admonishes Youths Against Bad Company
Field Superintendent of the Apostolic Church Nigeria in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Pastor John Buzu has called on youths to avoid bad company in order not to be used for political violence during the campaigns and forthcoming elections. Buzu made this call while speaking with journalists at the 15th Anniversary Convention of the church, themed, The Gospel: God’s Power for National Recovery, said that most youths are used for violence during elections, because they keep company with people that cannot add value to the their lives. He called on the youths to give priority in government policies and plans that would make great and positive impact in their lives, adding that because most youths are not being utilized positively in the country, they join bad companies and end up perpetrating violence. “The youths are the life wire of any development in a society or country. There is no society or generation that will despise the youth and expect to have meaningful development in any way, because the success and growth of every society lies on the youths. My advice to the youth is that who you relate and associate with matters.” The cleric also advised that Nigerians should be wise in electing their leaders in the forth coming election, saying that the era of looking for immediate monetary gains is over. “The person that has good motives and can move Nigeria forward, irrespective of political affiliation, that person should be supported. We should not be carried always by empty promises, but by people with political interest and desire to serve the people,” he said. SOURCE; LEADERSHIP
