GF: Now that 2 major leaders of China and Iran are after the removal of Donald Trump, what does this development portend for the progress and unity of America in relation to the coming election in November 2020?
Jeffrey Davis: I don’t think China or Iran will have an appreciable impact on the coming election. This will be a referendum on Trump and his policies, which, by now, are well known to all.
GF: The choice of an African American woman by Joe Biden is historical but do you think this will make any difference in the result of the next election as well as curbing the tide of racism in America?
Jeffrey Davis: I think Harris’ nomination will help bring out the “black” vote, especially among women, who didn’t support Hilary 4 years ago. It won’t do much to curb racism directly, but it will give more representation for people of color and that’s a step in the right direction.
GF: What should be the role of Christians in the fight against racism and other social vices in America?
Jeffrey Davis: Christians must stand against racism in any and every form. They need to remember that Jesus, being of Middle Eastern decent, most assuredly was person of color. Compassion and service to others needs to guide their actions.
