Christian Rulers Meet Miyetti Allah, Discuss Farmers-Herders Crisis

Christian rulers under the Association of Christian Traditional Rulers Forum have converged for a meeting with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) to discuss and brainstorm on lasting solutions to the farmer-herder’s crisis in the country.

Punch News accounts that the Chairman of Christian Rulers Forum, Eze Nkeli Kelly, along with the secretary of the association, King Dodo II and the group have said that the meeting held recently has proven fertile and promising.

The Christian Monarch forum released a statement issued in Awka, the Anambra State capital and signed by the forum’s chairman and secretary, disclosing the meeting with Miyetti Allah was a fruitful one.

Giantability News gathered that part of the statement read, “The association in collaboration with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria is meeting to find a lasting solution to end the farmers-herders’ clashes all over the country.

“We also advised all monarchs to educate youth in their areas and other subjects to be law-abiding and shun any form of violence.”

In another development, the Miyetti Allah recently commended the Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir el-Rufai for his prompt response during the attack on some communities in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state, where 66 persons were allegedly killed.

The woman leader of MACBAN, Hajiya Khadijah has however called on the government to ensure that proper investigation is carried out and perpetrators are made to face the full wrath of the law in order to serve as deterrent to others now and in the future.
