Kaduna: CAN Holds Prayer Rally for Peace during Election

The Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria has held a prayer rally in the State on Sunday to seek for peace in the country during the forth-coming general elections.

The rally which took place at the Albarka Fellowship Baptist Church in the state on Sunday witnessed the attendance of not less than 3,000 Christians.

Chairman of the state chapter of CAN, Rev. John Hayab while disclosing this to journalists on Sunday said the prayers were necessary in view of the fears, anxiety and tension mounting, as the elections get closer.

“As Christians, we believe that there is nothing God cannot solve, so what we have done is to call Christians to come and submit it to God for free, peaceful and credible election.

“Election will come and go, so we must tolerate each other and live as brothers and sisters; election should not divide us.

“God you know our situation, we want this election to be peaceful and successful.”

Rev. Hayab sought for professionalism from the Independent National Electoral Commission and Security Agencies in the execution of their duties.

“We will also pray for those who will participate as officials of the election, that God touch your heart to do what is right,” he advised.

While admonishing the electorates to behave themselves, be law abiding, cast their votes and not destroy anything, the CAN Chairman urged politicians to conduct themselves peacefully during the elections with the fear of God.
