The event kick started at about 11am, at the celebrant’s church, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ebute-metta DCC Headquarters, Lagos.

Pastor Odunaiya, who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wemy Industries Limited, the first indigenous company in Nigeria to manufacture disposable baby diapers and sanitary towels, in his testimony acknowledged  the grace of God in his life thus far.

The Chancellor testified of how his father did not make it to 70 years as well as his mother who passed on at 60 years of age and his brother whom he loved dearly that also departed at the age of 44.

In his words, “…in my short 80 years on earth I have passed through the proverbial valleys of the shadows of death on a few occasions but the Lord has always been there for me to guide me to safety and also to save me.”

Odunaiya, who also is a member of Giantability Media Network’s Advisory Council, appreciated God for his family, saying: “I am glad I do know Him and He loves me. I have achieved successes in my work endeavors. I have faced failures on a few occasions with equanimity but here again the Lord has been faithful as He has always rescued and lifted me up.

“I cannot but thank God for the family with wish I was born. A godly family, dedicated to the worship and service of God with their lives and material resources.”

The cleric shared thought about what lessons life had taught him, one of which is that wisdom comes from above and with age and that “it is neither the heights attained in life nor the material gains acquired that matter in this fleeting life, but what you do to lift up your fellow man or woman.”

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the President CAC Worldwide, Pastor A O. Akinosun; General Secretary  CAC Worldwide Pastor E.E Mapor; Pro-Chancellor & Chairman Governing Council (JABU) Pastor Professor A.M.A. Imevbore as well as the Vice Chairman, Governing Council (JABU) &Director of mission- CAC Worldwide Pastor (Dr) C.S Fasuyi,  to mention but a few.

The celebration was reported to have continued at the Federal College of Education (FCE), Akoka.
